Tara L.E. Trammell received her doctorate from the Department of Biology at the University of Louisville, where she is currently working as a Research Associate.  During her graduate career, she received a University Fellowship and a Doctoral Dissertation Completion Award from the graduate school, and a research assistantship from the USDA Forest Service, Northern Global Change Program to conduct mathematical modeling for the Baltimore Ecosystem Study, Long-Term Ecological Research Station.  For the past 8 years, Tara has conducted research on an urban forest type that has not received much attention by urban ecologists, forest verges along urban interstates.  This research documented how multiple ecosystem drivers of urban interstates may alter ecosystem structure, function, and services of these forests.  Her research interests include invasive species impacts on forest ecosystems and conserving forest ecosystems in urban environments.
