Song, Conghe
Dr. Song’s research interests include: (1) extracting vegetation information from remotely sensed imagery, such as forest successional stages, leaf area index, tree crown size, and leaf clumping index, fractional vegetation cover etc; (2) using remotely sensed information as input to ecological models to understand terrestrial ecosystem energy, water and carbon dynamics in the context of global climate and land-cover/land-use change over a regional scale, (3) understanding impacts of human activities on ecosystem structure and functions and feedbacks of environmental change on human activities. I particularly interested in linking observations on the ground with information derived from satellite and ecological models to understand human-environment interactions. As a result, I spend a lot of time in the field every year in the summer.
