Christina Leshko is a second-year doctoral student in the Sociology Department with graduate specializations in environmental science and policy, animal studies, and gender, justice and environmental change. Her work focuses on human attitudes toward wildlife, mechanisms that influence human behavioral change, ecological ethics, and intersections between climate change, environmental justice, and gender.

Her anticipated dissertation will explore the relationship between values, wildlife, and the natural environment. The proposed LTER research would complement this anticipated dissertation by providing an opportunity to synthesize the current literature on environmental values, explore perceptions of wildlife and environment among the Michigan farming community, and further develop methodological expertise in survey development and focus group facilitation.
