CHANS-Net member seeks collaborators for SRA Annual Meeting symposium

May 25, 2012

CHANS-Net member Matteo Convertino, of the University of Florida and the Risk and Decision Science Team of the Engineering R&D Center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is looking for potential collaborators for a symposium he has proposed at the Society for Risk Analysis Annual Meeting, Dec. 9-12 in San Francisco.

Entitled "What Lawyers and Birds have in Common: Risk and Decisions in Coupled Human-Natural Systems," the symposium aims to review and propose theories and methods of human and ecological systems amendable for integration in comprehensive risk analysis; illustrate application of biophysical models to coupled human and natural systems; and illustrate application of coupled biophysical and social science models and methods to assess the impacts of management alternatives.

"I can accomodate two other presentations in my symposium and I'm very open to doing that," Convertino said.
