Keesing is a professor of biology/David & Rosalie Rose Distinguished Professor of the Sciences, Mathematics, and Computing

Her primary research focus is on the consequences of changes in biodiversity for the functioning of ecological communities. I currently have two main research projects, as well as several smaller projects. The first of my primary projects is on how the loss of vertebrate diversity influences African savanna communities, and the second is on how changes in species diversity influence disease transmission, using tick-borne diseases in the eastern United States as a model system.
